British artist and Norwich University of Art graduate Joe Cruz is making his mark on the art world, as well as old pictures (it's his thing).

Specialising in illustration, Cruz fuses vintage imagery with flashes of bright colour to create eye-catching pictures, a technique which AnOther magazine described as adding a 'playful, colourful touch to vintage fashion editorials'. His work has also caught the attention of big brands; in 2014 he collaborated with fashion store Whistles on a menswear sweatshirt and T-shirt, applying his signature style to photographs of London’s Barbican Centre, proving not all art has to be hung on the wall. His latest solo show at Shoreditch's Book Club sees Cruz draw inspiration from strong women and physically powerful men.
